Spirulina is a very complex microorganism. It has a high nutrient density. Protein can make up to 70% of Spirulina, thus it contains all essential amino acids. Spirulina contains minor amounts of essential fatty acids and important trace elements, e.g. iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. Additionally, Spirulina contains Vitamin E and different B vitamins, like thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and folic acid. Furthermore, high contents of vitamin K and B12 can be found in Spirulina.
