Sodium Bicarbonate

Sodium Bicarbonate is a crystalline white solid, commonly appearing as a fine powder. Mixed with water it can be used as an antacid to treat acid indigestion and heartburn.

It is used in conjunction with a mild acid in effervescent tablets to generate the fizz. Sodium Bicarbonate is commonly used in toothpastes and some mouth washes. It can also be used in deodorants.
