Pyridinium p-Toluene Sulphonate

Pyridinium p-Toluene Sulfonate (PPTS) is a salt of pyridine and p-toluenesulfonic acid. It is a colourless solid used in synthesis and as an efficient catalyst for preparing tetrahydropyranyl ethers. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of immuno-suppressants and an anti-obesity drug.
