Potassium iodide

Potassium iodide has been used medically for some 200 years and is on the World Health Organisation’s list of essential medicines. It is used in medications and as a nutritional supplement in animal feeds and for the human diet. It is also an expectorant, increasing secretion of respiratory fluids which results in decreased mucus viscosity.
