Nicotinic Acid

Nicotinic acid (3-pyridinecarboxylic acid) and its amide, nicotinamide, are the common forms of the B-vitamin, niacin (vitamin B3). It is used as a nutrient and/or dietary supplement in animal drugs, feeds, and related products. It is a white crystalline powder which is sparingly soluble in water. It is readily soluble in boiling water, boiling alcohol and in solutions of alkali hydroxides and carbonates.
