Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC)

Also called Hypromellose, HPMC is an inert polymer used in eye drops and as an excipient and controlled-delivery component in oral medications.

It has emulsifying and thickening properties. A cellulose derivative, it is an off-white or beige powder which forms colloids when dissolved in water.
