New highly bioactive form of Omega-3 with increased potency

11.Apr.2019

Calanus® Oil is a new and highly bioactive form of Omega-3 sustainably harvested from a small crustacean found in the Norwegian Sea.

Whereas classic omega-3s come as triglycerides, ethyl esters and phospholipids, Calanus® Oil comes as wax esters. In comparative studies with classic omega-3, Calanus® Oil has demonstrated more potency, higher uptake and additional benefits. A deep red, slightly viscous oil, it is free from chemical or artificial preservatives and has applications in dietary supplements.

It is produced by Calanus AS, which is spearheading the development of a new industrial value chain based on the marine copepod Calanus finmarchicus – the most numerous animal species on the planet and the largest renewable and harvestable resource in the Norwegian Sea. The products are made without hazardous processing aids, and contain no additives.
