Glycine is an organic compound that is a colourless, sweet tasting crystalline solid. Glycine has a wide variety of uses as a sweetener and taste enhancer, as a component of food supplements and protein drinks and as an additive in pet food and animal feed. It is also used in alcoholic and soft drinks as an acid corrector or buffer. It acts as a stabiliser in products including cream cheese, margarine and lard, noodles and more.
