Regulation changes in the food industry

Are you aware that changes to food labels have just come into force? From 13th December 2016, nutritional information such as energy, fat, carbohydrates, protein and salt have to be provided on the label.

Before that date, these details were only required where a claim such as ‘low in fat’ is used. Even if you had already been providing this information with your products, you will need to amend the label as it should be provided in a different order, and salt rather than sodium content is required.

Further details about the regulatory changes are available here.
